Isn't this sign cute? I found it at Dollar Tree.
God has been working on me about having a more grateful heart. I have so many blessings and yet I had let some disappointments suck away some of my joy and gratefulness. I spent some time in prayer and have been able to see the blessing in what I thought was so terrible. That is the way it goes sometimes. The first impression of something is not always what is true. Which is why the Bible admonishes us to think about what is true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report. Did my thoughts find into any of these categories? Nope!
Finally, brethren,
whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever
things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are
lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue,
and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8
Today my heart is over following with gratefulness and joy. God is truly good.
Our day started with an outdoor service at church. It was wonderful - a beautiful, sunny fall day and we got to sing! It has been six months since we have been able to sing together as a congregation due to gov't health guidelines. What a joy that was! Another blessing was my Mum and another friend from my ladies Bible study came and joined us today! I have not been able to get them to come to church before so it was a real blessing. Then the sermon - wow! Our pastor knocked it out of the park today. ~smile~ He does an amazing job every Sunday but today just really spoke to my heart. So great! I .am so thankful for our church family and the love we have for each other
My hubby had to work this afternoon so we could not stay to picnic afterwards which was a shame. Everyone was to bring a bag lunch and visit together with social distancing ofcourse.
After Mark went to work I had a rest then went for a walk. Here are some pictures I took when I was out - so much beauty to be thankful for....
Fresh tomatoes from the garden here at the cottage.
These grow all over the yards and by the driveway.
